Starobin Counseling Vision

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Licensed Clinical Therapist shall provide outpatient individual, couple, family, and group therapy to clients of Starobin Counseling, LLC. Clinical therapy services can include the treatment of children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups. The Clinical Therapist shall provide onsite and remote services to clients. The Clinical Therapist will provide skilled, compassionate, attuned, and trauma-informed therapy for clients.

Professionals who are Board Certified Supervisors with clinical supervisory experience or clinicians interested in Group Coordination in addition to maintaining a client caseload are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will be highly interested in working with the neurodiverse population and some have experience working with adults, children, and/or couples. You are driven to work for an organization that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Licensing: You are already licensed in Maryland or DC.
Hybrid Schedule: You are comfortable working onsite 2 days a week at the Olney office.
Caseload: You are comfortable maintaining a caseload of at least 20 cases per week.
Strong Documentation: You are savvy in client documentation and can complete records efficiently and accurately.
Continuous Growth and Development: You are interested in continuing your professional development and enjoy learning new things.
Holistic Approach: You view the client and the family in a relational view and think conceptually about your treatment and approach.
Empathetic and Trustworthy: You can handle confidential information appropriately and gain the trust and respect of your clients.
Critical Thinker: You can think critically and appreciate the context within which mental health issues and life challenges exist.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Must be a licensed clinical therapist, this can include:
    • LCSW, LCSW-C, ILCSW, LCPC, or LMFT
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a growing practice
  • Previous experience working with neurodiverse clients preferred. Willingness to work with the neurodiverse community is required.
  • For Board Certified Supervisors – prior experience providing clinical supervision is required.
